The Intore dance, a traditional Rwandan dance, is characterized by dancers mimicking a battle with an invisible opponent, and it is performed to the rhythm of drums and horns. In pre-colonial times, intore was a war dance performed by the Tutsi military. Dance numbers were often war-themed, and the performing men carried actual weapons. Present-day intore dancers do not carry actual weapons, but instead use replicas. It is now performed at various celebrations and public ceremonies, including family gatherings and national events. The dance is accompanied by drum ensemble (from seven to nine drums), providing strong, almost hypnotic set of rhythms. Melodic interludes are provided by the lulunga, a harp-like instrument with eight strings.

Potential dancers are chosen based on physical and moral attributes. Before they can perform, the intore dancers receive training, where they learn the steps of the dance as well as moral values. 2.there’s spear and shield for fighting and protecting Those things there wearing on legs are called amayugi they were used to make Amelie’s to think there’s a lot of people attacking now they are musical instruments used by Intore when dancing They sound like bells Now we dance as art of imitating and appreciating rwandan warriors who found, expanded and protected Rwanda Last but not least there’s ancient Rwandan hair cuts that our culture troupe are fighting to make come back in Rwandan men They are called amasunzu hairstyle you can even google it..was hairstyle tht Rwandan men and unmarried girls had before colonialism
