ONGHA – The Governor of the Ohangwena Region, Hon. Sebastian Kadiva Hamutumwa, today accompanied the President of the Republic of Namibia, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, on an official visit to the NamWater Omakango Reservoir in Ongha.
The visit coincided with the commissioning of newly installed pumps by Her Excellency the President, marking a major milestone in the region’s new bulk water supply scheme.
The upgraded system will now enable the pumping of water from Ongha to Eenhana, significantly enhancing water distribution across the Ohangwena Region.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Hamutumwa underscored the importance of water infrastructure to regional development, noting that the Government remains committed to ensuring reliable access to clean water for all residents.
Authorities say the new bulk water scheme is expected to strengthen water security and support both economic and social progress in the region.
